Analyzing the Reasons Behind ObesityTackling the Five Reasons for Effective Weight Loss
Before any weight loss program is ever attempted, it is necessary to pinpoint the main cause and address it to insure that weight loss is safe and permanent.
If weight loss was confined to eliminating extra calories, everyone would reach their ideal weight range. Unfortunately, it isn't as easy as eating less or counting calories. Since everyone functions differently there can be no standard diet that works for everybody, regardless of what the advertising says. There are many reasons why weight loss is such a burden for many. Eating fewer calories that what is burned off certainly helps toward shedding unwanted pounds. But for weight loss to be permanent, it's necessary to address the central cause that leads to an overweight condition. The consumption of food alone doesn't provide the only solution. It is usually a combination of factors that leads to an overweight condition. There are five main areas that contribute to weight gain for so many. Once those issues are addressed, weight loss can be successful. HeredityLittle can be done to address this issue. Some people are naturally prone to gaining weight. Their metabolism is such that more food translates into fat than it does for normal people. But heredity plays a small part in weight gain for most people. FoodIt's the major issue for most people and the first culprit for obesity. What is eaten and how much determines how much that spare tire increases. In today's environment, most people simply eat too much. However, the culprit is often in eating the wrong food. The typical diet is loaded with high fat, sugar and high carbohydrates that negate any results that might come from eating less. Since most food has been chemically altered, those chemicals are stored in fatty tissue as the body simply cannot eliminate them. ExerciseExercise increases the heart rate that increases blood flow. Impaired circulation translates into more fat storage. Fortunately, a simple 15 minute daily walk will do more for health than pounding the pavements in a marathon. The Toxic EnvironmentMany people simply must live under a barrage of toxins. Living in the city means breathing exhaust fumes and industrial pollutants. While a good many people adhere to a good diet and get regular exercise, they find it hard to lose weight. The toxic load on the body has as much to do with weight gain as does eating improperly. Toxins such as lead, cadmium and other heavy metals are not easily eliminated and remain locked up in the fat and the bones. If environmental factors are the major reasons for weight gain, it's more important to engage in a program of detoxification rather than a diet program. Methods such as fasting or a sauna can help eliminate those toxins and along with it the accumulated fat. Sweating is one of the best ways to eliminate toxins. The Personal HabitsThrough the years from infancy onward, many people have accumulated the habits that lead to ill health. The worst among them is the habit of smoking. The smoke of a burning cigarette contains some 4000 chemicals, 50 of which are deadly. This only adds to the toxins already in the environment and makes it almost impossible to lose weight. Smoking, skipping breakfast, not getting enough sleep and not drinking enough water all contribute to weight gain. In order to have the best chance to shed pounds, it's necessary to look at the above five factors. If any one of them are the primary reason for weight gain, focusing on those most important will lead to far more success than rushing into the next diet fad. Of course, there are no quick fix solutions. It takes effort to set a weight loss goal. But the rewards of a trimmer figure and a healthier body should be incentive enough to put the worry of dieting away for good.
