By using many of the keys to weight loss in this article one can begin seeing a difference not only in how their body looks, but how they feel as well.

There are many different ways to lose weight, but losing it the healthy ways part of the philosophy behind these keys to weight loss. This plan incorporates concepts of exercise and fat loss, muscle groups and fat loss, healthy eating plans and limiting the use of the scale.

Keys to Weight Loss

There are certain techniques that people have used over the years which have benefited them in more ways then one. Not only do using these methods help one lose weight, but they also help speed up the weight loss process in a natural manner, which transforms one's body into the ultimate fat burning machine.

Exercise and Fat Loss

One of the keys to weight loss is exercise, and although there are many people who dread exercise, it is a proven method for losing weight. The weight loss that a person will experience will be fat loss and not just water weight, which is key to changing the composition of the body.

According to Kathleen Goodwin who has been a registered dietitian for over 15 years has stated in her article,“Successful Weight Loss: Top 10 Tips on What Works and Why, “It's nothing new, but exercise is probably the most important predictor of whether you will succeed at long term weight loss and weight loss maintenance.”

Muscle Groups and Fat Loss

One way to get the full effect of exercise in relation to fat loss is to work larger muscle groups. This includes exercises that encompass cardiovascular conditioning, such as lunges, squats and bent over rows. These muscle groups are larger in size and will burn more calories while you exercise as well as when you aren't exercising, which will give you maximum fat burning results.

One should also consider using free weights or some type of resistance training to help tone their body. This means to either combine the two workouts for at least 45 minutes a day 5 days a week or alternate days where they do cardiovascular exercise one day and weight exercises another day.

Healthy Eating Plans

In order to incorporate healthy eating plans a person will need to watch their caloric intake as well as fat intake. The best way to calculate this is to use your starting weight as a guideline and multiply this number by a hundred. This will give you a starting point as to how many calories you should be eating.

This will help you eat a sufficient amount of calories so your body will not go into shock and feel like it is starving. If a person tried to cut back too much fat and calories from how they would normally eat this can backfire on them. This can actually cause a person's body to hold onto the unwanted fat and makes losing weight even more difficult.

According to the mayo clinic website in their article, "Weight Loss: 6 Strategies for Success, they state that, "Adopting a new eating style that promotes weight loss must include lowering your total calorie intake. But decreasing calories need not mean giving up taste, satisfaction or even ease of meal preparation. One way you can lower your calorie intake is by eating more plant-based foods — fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Strive for variety to help you achieve your goals without giving up taste or nutrition."

One should also increase water intake to at least 8- 8 ounce glasses of water per day. This will help cleanse toxins out of the body as well as give the body a sense of fullness so this will generally make the person eat less.

Cut back on sodas in general, this even means diet sodas. Regular sodas have too much sugar and caffeine as well as calories. Diet Soda contains artificial sweeteners which have been shown to be linked to depression. The last obstacle anyone needs when they are dieting is to be in a depressed state of mind. Instead opt for the flavored waters or iced tea, these make great alternatives.

Limit the Use of the Scale

It's alright to get on the scale, but to become obsessed about the number that shows up on it isn't. The best way to use the scale without reading too much into these numbers is to limit getting on the scale to only one time a month. This will work in a number of ways, it will give a person a more accurate account of their weight loss over a period of time and will allow a person to rely more on how they feel and look, which is an essential factor in weight loss.

Women should also keep in mind that their bodies tend to hold onto certain amounts of water during certain parts of the month. Did you know that a woman can actually retain up to 5lbs of water weight during her menstrual cycle? This is why it is not a good idea to constantly get on the scale because it usually does more harm then good.

Losing weight doesn't have to seem like the evil villain people tend to associate it with. It can be fun, exhilarating and a person can learn a lot about themselves in the process. By incorporating these simple keys to weight loss a person can lose weight, feel better about themselves and have more energy in the process.
