With many positive health benefits (anti-cancer, anti-viral, anti-biotic), drinking Green Tea is the perfect choice when trying to lose weight.

Many people are worried about excessive weight. For many, being overweight or obese is a real challenge. Because most diets eventually end up failing, it's difficult to stay motivated and positive. People are unsuccessful with fad diets because eventually the diet ends and people return to their previous lifestyle. Green tea is an element that can be added to anyone’s lifestyle. Sipping a few cups a day is easy, tasty, and beneficial. Green tea helps people lose weight in a variety of ways.

Fat Oxidation/Thermogenisis

Green tea helps the body turn fat into usable energy by increasing metabolism.

A study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that green tea promotes fat oxidation and has thermogenic properties beyond that explained by just the caffeine. The study showed the metabolism increased by 4% for participants in the study.

Thermogenisis is a natural process in which fat is burned to produce body heat. Fat that isn’t burned is stored on the hips, thighs, stomach, etc. Green tea can help counteract the body’s fat storage mechanisms by causing the body to maintain a higher metabolic rate, turning the internal thermostat up to burn fat faster.

Lipase Inhibition

Green tea prevents the body from absorbing fat.

A study from The Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry reports that the available information strongly suggests that green tea may be used as a safe and effective lipid-lowering therapeutic agent.

Helps Glucose Regulation

Green tea helps prevent insulin spikes (lots of insulin promotes fat storage).

A study from the journal BioFactors showed that green tea modulates the glucose uptake system in adipose (fat) tissue and skeletal muscle, and it suppresses the expression and/or activation of adipogensis-related transcription factors, as the possible mechanisms of its anti-obesity actions.

May Help Reduce Appetite

A study from the University of Chicago in the journal Endocrinology found that green tea caused rats to lose up to 21 percent of their body weight and consume 60 percent less food. Even though this study involved rats, the results are promising.

Great Calorie-Free Beverage

Skip the cappuccino, mocha, and soda – which all have too much sugar and calories. Replacing some of your favorite beverages with green tea will aid in weight loss by removing empty calories while still getting caffeine and energy. Automatically lose one pound per week by replacing a 500-calorie mocha with green tea each day.

Fills You Up

By sipping green tea all day (at least 3 cups), the stomach will be filled with a hot liquid, which in itself will help suppress appetite.

Caffeine and Energy

The caffeine in green tea creates extra energy, and the more energy expended, the more calories burned. Plus, drinking a lot of tea may lead you to the bathroom more often. A walk to the bathroom is a creative way to get some extra exercise.

Prevents Illness

Many studies have shown that green tea has antibacterial and antiviral properties, which help prevent and fight illness. It’s challenging to exercise and eat healthy when you’re sick, so drink green tea to prevent illnesses and maintain overall health.
